Ironically this isn't the first time I've had a page that looked a bit like this. Never had a geocities site, but I've had a couple of blogs and personal sites over the years because I am *SUPER OLD* now.

I don't think I understood how commercialized the web had become until I started checking out the indieweb/slow web movement. Considering how many walled garden sites are either monetized or trying to convince me to approach all of life with a profit motive, I was shocked that I hadn't noticed it sooner. My promise to you is that I will never try to monetize this site, not least because it seems like a lot of work for probably zero return. And in part because I freakin' hate how pervasive that has become.
